Back To Mind Chiropractic
Your speedy recovery is our prime goal
Clear and efficient communication is a vital component of your recovery at Back To Mind. That is why we always strive to establish a communicative relationship with our patients, ensuring that their needs are listened to and understood.
Communication is one of the key components of reaching optimum health without the addition of potentially unnecessary medications, injections or surgeries. Depending on the severity of the sustained injuries, some patients will need tens (sometimes even around fifty) of visits in order to return to their pre-accident state.

Understanding your treatment plan
Treatment plans for injured patients vary drastically from those of non-injured patients. For example, let's take a look at patients who come to us due to non-injury-induced pain and aches as opposed to patients who seek care for injuries sustained in a car accident, or any sports-related or slip and fall accidents. When a patient comes to our office, describing their pain level as a nine or ten (on a scale of zero to ten) but has not sustained a traumatic injury, they are expected to feel a drastic decrease in pain levels within three to five visits, and sometimes even less.
In contrast, a patient who comes to our offices due to an injury from a car accident will require 15, 25, 35, 45, or sometimes, even more, visits to reach a full recovery. An injured patient in an accident, even if their pain level is self-described as a two, three, or four, will almost always require a more thorough care plan, perhaps even as thorough as another patient that reports a pain level of nine or ten. We strive to see to their full recovery without the need of injections, medications or surgery.
The goal is to reach full recovery.
Topics covered below pertain to car and/or slip & fall accidents. Following are some of the points we are going to explain:
- Go over the treatment plan and the importance of following through.
- Go over the various therapies and modalities.
- Explain injury mechanism and recovery.
- Go over the three available financial sources focusing on PIP, leaving you with more money leftover from your settlement.

Your treatment plan
The importance of following through
In our 20 years of practice at Back To Mind, it has become clear that when a patient comes to therapy daily throughout the entire process, even when they feel no pain and just need to improve their regular functioning such as range of motion, muscle strength, etc., they will reach optimum health or return to their pre-accident condition.
We do not advocate for two or three visits a week only. On the contrary, we advise patients to come in twice a day to take advantage of our services as we do not bill for the second visit on the same day.
The title of the reports for the second visit on the same day states: "second visit on the same day at no cost to the patient and or carrier."

Injury mechanism & recovery
Why accident injuries need more intense care
The impact of a car accident on the human body causes fibers to stretch and/or possibly tear. There are several types of fiber that can sustain injury and benefit from treatment such as disc, ligament, tendon, meniscus and muscle fibers. Unfortunately, humans have not yet evolved to cope with such forces from a car accident. The aforementioned fibers may suffer great injuries, which is why it takes dedication, time, and more intense care to reach optimum health.
All modalities of the therapies rendered at Back To Mind are longer than what the statutes call for, meaning that we go above and beyond to give you the most thorough treatment possible, with of course no extra charge to our patients and or the insurance company. We do so to ensure that our patients will have a higher chance to reach full recovery.

Your progress
Accurate reporting and your progress
It is of the utmost importance to strive to be as accurate as possible in reporting to us of your pain level and any other issues, whether verbally or via the kiosk, or any other method for that matter. We get to know you better, as do the lawyers, including the defense and prosecution. As time goes on, we expect to see a decrease in pain levels. Most likely, we'll see a major decrease in pain by the end of two or three months of the period of care.
We all want you to have no pain and to function as you did before the accident. When you reach a plateau in your healing, we will write up the maximum medical improvement (MMI) report. If you are healed after ten or so visits, then we will, of course, discharge you. Though, as long as you experience pain or limitations from the car accident, you should abide by the care plan and continue to seek our services. When you come to us dozens of times due to medical necessity, you express a commitment to your process back to health, have the opportunity to seek compounding healthcare from a specialist, and create a thorough paper trail.

Therapies & modalitiesThe three financial sources
The three financial aspects of your case
To provide some background, we remind you that there are three financial aspects of your case. The more the PIP pays on your behalf, the less you and/or your attorney will have to pay at the end of the case — meaning more money is leftover for you.
Personal Injury Protection (PIP)
Solely for the purpose of covering medical expenses, meaning that it does not go to legal fees. The PIP portion is what helps you reduce the cost of the medical bill at the summation of the case.
Bodily Injury (BI)
One of the two other avenues that your attorney may use to assist you in a case, alongside uninsured motorist coverage.
Uninsured Motorist (UM)
The second additional avenue an attorney may use to assist you in your case when the at-fault party's coverage is not enough.
